Supporting the Utah Wild

Over the past year, you may have noticed the ultimate frisbee players who come to SLC S&C. They all bring intensity and joy to the gym, and the women who are part of this group have an exciting announcement: they have recently started a professional womxn’s* ultimate frisbee team based in Salt Lake City, the Utah Wild! As a part of the Western Ultimate League, they will compete against other professional ultimate teams from California, Washington, Oregon, and Arizona.

To celebrate their upcoming inaugural season, SLC S&C is spending the month of March showing our support for Utah Wild in the following ways:

  • On March 14th, SLC S&C is hosting a Kodiak Cakes pancake breakfast with the Wild Players after a morning of Unconventional Training. The event will be free to all gym members, but donations are encouraged!
  • For the month of March, we will also be doing “Ultimate Finishers.” Similar to the “Fill Your Sleeves” challenge, we’re challenging you all to be your ultimate selves and support these athletes with a fundraiser. Donate one time, for every workout, or anywhere in between! You’ll be seeing “Ultimate Finishers” all month.
  • The Utah Wild has games in Salt Lake City on April 4th and April 18th, and we’d love to see you there! Email utahwildultimate@gmail.com for tickets or head to their website: utahwildultimate.com. Prices are $10 for adults, $7 for children under 18, and free for those who are under 5 years old.

As you see these athletes around the gym, we encourage you to reach out and talk to them about their upcoming season! A professional team has many financial needs to succeed, and SLC S&C is proud to be partnering with this team, led by driven and passionate women. If you’re interested in donating or having your business sponsor the Utah Wild, please respond to this email, or email utahwildultimate@gmail.com directly. Let’s get ready to go Wild!

*Utah Wild uses the term womxn to be inclusive of all womxn and non-binary people. We seek non-binary, transgender, and cisgender women to be players, volunteers, and employees of the league and its teams.
