With over ten years of experience in the science and administration field of Exercise Science and Physiology, Stephen has advanced knowledge of biomechanics, kinesiology, human anatomy and physiology, with emphasis in muscular development and injury prevention. With his previous experience working with and progressing athletes at the collegiate and professional level, he specializes in strength and conditioning programming and individualized training for groups of all sizes and ages. His training protocols are devoted towards injury prevention, functional movement, joint stability, core strength, full body strength, rehabilitation, weight loss, conditioning, body composition and much more.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Ryan came to Salt Lake City to join the SLC Strength & Conditioning team as a strength and conditioning coach in January, 2020. Ryan holds an M.S. in Exercise Science from Liberty University and a B.S. in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA, as well as a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach through the USA Weightlifting Federation. In addition to his impressive educational background, Ryan, also has years worth of experience training athletes at the collegiate, professional, and Olympic level.
Prior to coming to Utah, Ryan began his career as an undergraduate, working with the football strength and conditioning staff at Florida State University during the summer of 2016. In Fall 2016, Ryan accepted an opportunity as a strength and conditioning coach with Gayle Hatch Weightlifting; working with numerous collegiate and professional athletes as well as Olympic hopefuls. Coach Hatch was named the Head Olympic Weightlifting Coach for Team USA in the 2004 Olympics and has been inducted into the Olympic Weightlifting Hall of Fame and Strength & Conditioning Hall of Fame. Ryan stated that having the opportunity to work under Coach Hatch was truly influential and has shaped a lot of his teaching techniques in the years to come through today. After his time with Gayle Hatch Weightlifting, Ryan spent three seasons working with the football strength and conditioning program at Texas A&M University where he was a part of multiple staffs, appearing in three bowl games.
With Ryan’s strong background in strength and conditioning and Olympic weightlifting, paired with his commitment to continuing education, based on his belief that there is always room to gain knowledge and for improvement, Ryan excels in program implementation for groups of all sizes and ages, in addition to teaching Olympic weightlifting movements and their derivatives to novice and advanced individuals.
Born and raised in Hesston, Kansas, Tyler moved to our beautiful state of Utah to join our SLC Strength & Conditioning coaching team and we feel incredibly honored to have him. With his Bachelor’s in Health and Human Performance and Master’s in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, Tyler brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him to SLC and has a strong foundation in Biomechanics, Kinesiology, and Human Anatomy. For the last five years, Tyler was the Head Olympic Strength and Conditioning Coach at Emporia State University working with Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Soccer, Softball, and Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, and Track and Field. Over the last two years he was brought on as an Assistant Football Strength and Conditioning Coach, also at Emporia State University, and taught as an Exercise Science Instructor. Additionally, Tyler had the opportunity to work with the strength staf f at Wyoming University, Bradley University, Kansas University, Kansas State, and Wichita State, which he feels had a large impact on his life and shaped his outlook and philosophies on proper strength and conditioning.
With over five years coaching experience in the strength and conditioning industry, Tyler’s coaching style is very detail oriented with emphasis on full body strength and specific conditioning to maximize everyone’s potential; all while creating an enjoyable environment in a safe and effective manner. Tyler stated that he is really looking to continue to provide the right tools for each individual to increase performance and decrease/prevent injuries from occurring with the day-to-day, regardless of training experience at SLC Strength & Conditioning.
Aside from his ambitious and impressive background, Tyler is a firm believer in staying up to date on the latest and greatest, so you may find him reading the most recent research on human and muscular development or programming techniques, in his spare time. Tyler is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS/NSCA) and completed the Sports Performance, Level 1 certification through USA Weightlifting.

Lexi began her coaching career in gymnastics and developed a passion for strength and conditioning, specifically. She had an impactful experience while volunteering in a collegiate sports performance setting that has helped shape her coaching philosophy and has led her to pursuing a career in the strength and conditioning industry. She is deeply passionate about the benefits of strength and conditioning among people of all ages to improve activities of daily living, longevity and overall well-being. She is eager to help facilitate physical development in a safe and effective manner to help others reach their goals in a positive and motivating atmosphere.
Originally from Iowa, Lexi moved to SLC in 2016 to continue her education in exercise science. She is currently finishing her Kinesiology degree at the University of Utah and working to become a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. In addition to studying exercise science, Lexi serves in the Utah Army National Guard and upon graduation she will become an officer.

Kristy developed a passion for educating the community on the importance of exercise and nutrition early on in life and earned her Gold Award with the Girl Scouts of Utah for a community outreach program that she was able to implement in several elementary schools in Utah. She also won First Place with the Health Occupation Student Association for a similar educational program that was implemented in several middle schools and high schools throughout Utah.
Lauren is a passionate health and wellness professional, she graduated from the University of Utah 2015 with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise & Sport Science (emphasis in Fitness Leadership) as well as a minor in Nutrition. She has extensive knowledge and experience with individual and group training for clients of all physical abilities.
