With over ten years of experience in the science and administration field of Exercise Science and Physiology, Stephen has advanced knowledge of biomechanics, kinesiology, human anatomy and physiology, with emphasis in muscular development and injury prevention. With his previous experience working with and progressing athletes at the collegiate and professional level, he specializes in strength and conditioning programming and individualized training for groups of all sizes and ages. His training protocols are devoted towards injury prevention, functional movement, joint stability, core strength, full body strength, rehabilitation, weight loss, conditioning, body composition and much more.

Born and raised in Hesston, Kansas, Tyler moved to our beautiful state of Utah to join our SLC Strength & Conditioning coaching team and we feel incredibly honored to have him. With his Bachelor’s in Health and Human Performance and Master’s in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, Tyler brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him to SLC and has a strong foundation in Biomechanics, Kinesiology, and Human Anatomy. For the last five years, Tyler was the Head Olympic Strength and Conditioning Coach at Emporia State University working with Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Soccer, Softball, and Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, and Track and Field. Over the last two years he was brought on as an Assistant Football Strength and Conditioning Coach, also at Emporia State University, and taught as an Exercise Science Instructor. Additionally, Tyler had the opportunity to work with the strength staf f at Wyoming University, Bradley University, Kansas University, Kansas State, and Wichita State, which he feels had a large impact on his life and shaped his outlook and philosophies on proper strength and conditioning.

With over five years coaching experience in the strength and conditioning industry, Tyler’s coaching style is very detail oriented with emphasis on full body strength and specific conditioning to maximize everyone’s potential; all while creating an enjoyable environment in a safe and effective manner. Tyler stated that he is really looking to continue to provide the right tools for each individual to increase performance and decrease/prevent injuries from occurring with the day-to-day, regardless of training experience at SLC Strength & Conditioning.

Aside from his ambitious and impressive background, Tyler is a firm believer in staying up to date on the latest and greatest, so you may find him reading the most recent research on human and muscular development or programming techniques, in his spare time. Tyler is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS/NSCA) and completed the Sports Performance, Level 1 certification through USA Weightlifting.

Sese Ianu, BS

Sese has many years of experience with training athletes and teaching proper execution of lifting, training and conditioning techniques.  With a strong background in sociology, Sese can connect and motivate groups or individuals of all ages to understand and achieve maximum performance in all areas of strength and conditioning. As a former collegiate and professional athlete, he also has experience in planning, customizing, and teaching specific position skills and programs. His motivation will make the workout exciting, while implementing a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for clients.

Experience in healthcare, diagnostic stress testing, and education with an extensive background in direct patient care, patient education, human physiology and anatomy, and more recently, technical education, development and implementation. Kristy gained the necessary skills and knowledge in the Exercise Science and Physiology field through her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and previous employment at Intermountain Healthcare and the University of Utah Healthcare, and continues to practice her expertise in employee training, development, and implementation at Myriad Genetics Inc. She currently holds advanced certifications through the American Heart Association, the National Board of Respiratory Care, and Training.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS OF 2016

Kristy developed a passion for educating the community on the importance of exercise and nutrition early on in life and earned her Gold Award with the Girl Scouts of Utah for a community outreach program that she was able to implement in several elementary schools in Utah. She also won First Place with the Health Occupation Student Association for a similar educational program that was implemented in several middle schools and high schools throughout Utah.

Lauren is a passionate health and wellness professional, she graduated from the University of Utah 2015 with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise & Sport Science (emphasis in Fitness Leadership) as well as a minor in Nutrition. She has extensive knowledge and experience with individual and group training for clients of all physical abilities. She is currently a certified yoga instructor, indoor cycling instructor and working toward becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Lauren loves all types of movement and exercise and enjoys helping clients reach their goals! She is currently applying for Graduate School to become a Registered Dietitian.

Pat has worked with numerous companies and organizations on both their video needs and to help build and improve their websites. While pursuing filmmaking throughout college and beyond, he’s remained intrigued about the power of web technology. He’s always up to experiment with the newest technology or help companies create the video content they need. Pat has experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, Python, WordPress, Video Editing and FX, and the Adobe Creative Suite. He’s currently learning Java because why not? We’ll see how that goes…
