Dexa Body offers a service called a Dexa Scan using a full body x-ray (of sorts). The data collected provides a comprehensive analysis of body composition including muscle mass, body fat percentage and weight, bone density etc. Most importantly, though, is the accuracy level that the Dexa Scan has especially when compared to other body composition analysis tools such as skin fold and bod pod.
Dexa Scans used to cost hundreds of dollars for an individuals due to the expense and availability of the machine and were mainly used to measure bone density by physician order only. This scan is still relatively unavailable in a lot of areas, but the data that we get from it is unparalleled and well worth it. Steve and I did a lot of research in hopes of finding an out-patient Dexa Scan and, with luck, we crossed paths with the owners of Dexa Body. Bottom line is if you’ve ever wondered what areas specifically need work in your body, this is a great place to start! It’s extremely informative, a bit shocking, and pretty awesome to see.
